North America Diving Dogs (NADD) titles are recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) though the AKC’s Title Recognition Program.

Trials are open to all breeds of dogs. There are two classes: Open and Lap. Lap is for dogs 16″ at the withers and under.

Your dog DOES NOT have to be AKC registered to participate in a North America Diving Dogs trial. However, it does need to have an NADD registered number. Registering is easy!

Step 1: Register for your NADD number
Step 2: Register for an event
Step 3: Go to the event & participate
Step 4: Earn a division title

There are four Title levels: Dock (5 Qs), Advanced (+25 Qs), Excellent (+25 Qs), and Excellent numerical multipliers (+50 Qs)

Distance Jumping: A division title is earned by accumulative five (5) qualifying jumps within one division. After the Division title is achieved additional titling levels can be earned. Advanced (A) – can be earned with an additional 25 qualifying jumps within a division.  An (A) will be placed behind the Division Title. Excellent (X) – can be earned once you have earned an Advanced (A) with an additional 25 qualifying jumps within a division. A (X) will be placed behind the Division Title.

Air Retrieve: A division title is earned by accumulative five (5) grabs within one division. After the Division title is achieved additional titling levels can be earned. Advanced (A) – can be earned with an additional 5 qualifying grabs within a division. An (A) will be placed behind the Division Title. Excellent (X)– can be earned once you have earned an Advance (A) with an additional 5 qualifying grabs within a division. A (X) will be placed behind the Division Title.

Vertical: A division title is earned by accumulative five (5) qualifying grabs within one division. After the Division title is achieved additional titling levels can be earned. Advanced (A) – can be earned with an additional 5 qualifying grabs within a division. An (A) will be placed behind the Division Title. Excellent (X) – can be earned once you have earned an Advance (A) with an additional 5 qualifying grabs within a division. A (X) will be placed behind the Division Title.

A handler/dog team can earn one qualifying grab towards a Division title based on their highest grab in a Vertical competition.

At this time only Distance Jumping is recognized by AKC for Titling.  AKC will make a decision if they want to include Vertical.  If you do get a title and AKC approved the discipline all titles will be grand-fathered.
